Rhode Island Seafood Festival FAQ

The Rhode Island Seafood Festival is an annual event which began in 2011 that brings together the best local purveyors of seafood and other fine fare as well as beer, wine and spirits from Ocean State producers.

We feature a full schedule of live music as well as activities that all the family can enjoy.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where is the festival?

At the beautiful India Point Park in Providence, Rhode Island, at the foot of the I-195 pedestrian bridge.

When is the festival?

The weekend after Labor Day every year. The 2020 festival will take place on Sept. 12 and 13.

What time is the festival?

Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is a rain or shine event.

Where can I park?

The festival is held in a city park, and there is not a parking lot available for the festival because of our waterfront location downtown. There is limited street parking available around the park, under the I195 bridge, on South Water Street, and off of Wickenden Street.  We do recommend taking public transportation or Uber/Lyft, especially if you’re staying at a hotel in town.

We have made several appeals since 2011 for the City of Providence to open more local parking lots, but have been unsuccessful. We are continuing to lobby the city in an effort to provide our festival guests with safe off-street parking.

I’m coming from out of town. Where can I stay?

Providence offers a range of accommodation for people, no matter the budget.

India Point Park is close to Providence’s city center, so any downtown hotel will be within range.

How much is admission? What is included in the price?

Tickets purchased online in advance cost $5 per day or $8 for a two-day pass. Advance ticket sales always close at least two days before the event.

On the weekend of the festival, admission is $10 for adults, with free entry for children under 12 years of age.

The ticket price includes entry for one day of the festival, with several hours of live music and entertainment for all ages.

Food is not included in the ticket price, but is for sale separately at various restaurant vendors.

Where can I buy tickets?

Is seafood the only food available?

Nope! While many of Rhode Island’s best seafood restaurants will be in attendance, we also play host to several non-seafood options. There’s something for everyone! You can check out the 2019 menu here.

How do I secure a space for my business?

Can I bring my dog?

Absolutely! As long as your pooch is on a leash, and you pick up after him or her, man’s best friend is welcome at the Rhode Island Seafood Festival.

Can I bring my own items?

We have chairs and tables for you to eat at, but you can feel free to bring your own chairs or picnic blankets. Due to health and licensing regulations, outside beverages and goods are strictly prohibited.

Is there a vendor for alcoholic beverages?

There certainly is. The drinks tent is run by the festival itself (as opposed to an outside vendor) and provides a range of local beers, wine, spirits and soda, as well as festival merchandise.

Is it a cash-only event?

Many vendors accept credit and debit cards, but that is up to each vendor.

There is an ATM on-site for cash withdrawals throughout the weekend. As the ATM is operated by a third party, withdrawal fees apply.

Credit and debit cards are accepted at the entrance gates.

TICKETS

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets can be purchased at the gate on the day of the festival, or in advance online for a limited time. Purchasing online gives you the opportunity for some great multi-ticket deals! Advance ticket sales always end at least two days before the event.

Do I need to print my tickets?

No, we can scan them from your phone. We recommend taking a screenshot as soon as you receive them.

I didn’t receive my tickets. Where are they?

Please search for emails from orders@eventsmart.com with the subject line “Your Grand Festivals event tickets.” Tickets are delivered moments after payment is processed. If they don’t arrive in your inbox, check your spam or promotions folders.

I'm coming with friends. Do the tickets need to be in my name?

No. As long as nobody else has had them scanned for at the entry gate, it doesn't matter whose name is on them.

Can I change my ticket from one date to another?

No. All ticket sales are final.

If I don't attend the festival, can I have a refund?

No. All ticket sales are final.

What if it rains?

Grand Festivals events are rain-or-shine. No matter the weather, the event is on.
